Can you tell me about what the specifications mean for turf?

I noticed that different turfs you offer have different specifications, such as density, height, etc. How do these specs come into play when deciding on which turf is right for me?

Artificial grass specifications are explained as following:

1. Pile Height: The height measurement for the straight fibers on the artificial grass, from the tips of the fiber to the backing.

2. Faceweight: This is the weight of all the fibers (including both the straight and curled) from an area of one square yard. Simple way to put it, if you pull out all the fibers from one square yard (equals 9 square feet) of artificial turf, and weight it, the readings will be the faceweight.

3. Blade shape: this is the shape of straight fibers. If you look at the tip of a piece of artificial grass straight fiber (cross section), you will see it is formed with a shape of "S" or "U" or "W" or "Diamond" and etc., such blade shapes help deflect lights differently making our artificial grass looks more realistic. Such shaped fibers will also stand up better than regular flat fibers.

4. Thatching: this is the curled fibers on the artificial grass surface, the functions of thatching is not only make artificial turf look more realistic, but also helping the straight fibers to stand up better.

5. Tufting gauge: this is the distance between two stitching lines, more of our artificial grass products' tufting gauge are 3/8", we also have 1/2" and 5/8" products as well.

6. Primary backing: this is the cloth we tuft artificial grass fibers onto. We use double layer primary backings for all of our products.

7. Secondary backing: this is the glue we use to hold artificial grass fibers onto the primary backing, and most of our products have polyurethane glues which is not reacting to moisture and hold up for a long time.

8. Total weight: this is the entire weight for one square yard of turf. The read of weighing of a perfect one-square yard (equals to 9 square feet) piece of artificial grass.

9. Roll width and length: Most of our artificial turf products come in as a "roll" with a width of 15' and length of either 75' or 100'.
