The stitch counts of artificial grass for soccer fields have minimal impact as far as functionality and performance go. It is more of technical specification indicating how many stitches in a per square yard area. Different soccer field might have different specification request, a sport field with artificial grass is a “system”, not just about turf. The underpayment, the infill requirement, the GMax factor and play ability are all part of bigger picture. Sometimes, the higher stitch counts will make the turf field too “tight” to infill and fail to achieve certain GMax value, therefore, it is not necessarily true that the higher the stitch count the “better”. A proper stitch count that balance the entire turf system is what designers and architects looking for.
