I am one of those Do It Yourself kind of guys who likes to work on things and I like saving money.  I have been considering artificial turf for my backyard for a couple of years now. I have been doing a lot of research online reading articles and watching videos on how to install artificial turf.  It looks like a lot of work but I think between my and my gardeners we can get the job done.  I write this review to thank Global Syn Turf and their local dealer here in Waco for helping me through this project.  The Global Syn Turf website has a lot of great information on how to install synthetic turf the right way.  I read so many different articles on how to install the artificial turf that seemed to give instructions that were taking short cuts.  I wanted to install the artificial turf but I wanted to do it the right way.  I ended up buying the artificial turf through the local Global Syn Turf dealer in my town.  When they delivered the turf the driver got out and helped me carry the artificial turf to the backyard.     When we were in the backyard the driver gave lots of helpful tips on how to be efficient and get the job done with as little effort as possible.  One of the ides he gave me was taking down a fence so we can move the tear out and base to the work area instead of going all the way around the house.  That ended up being a million dollar tip.  That saved me and my gardeners so much effort instead of wheel barreling everything all the way around the house.  He also gave me some tips about seaming, gluing and nailing the seams.  My gardeners and I tore out the yard 4" deep and moved all the tear out to the dump.  We brought in 4 inches of crushed rock aggregate, graded it out, wetted it and and compacted it with a compactor plate we rented from the local artificial turf dealer.  We laid all the turf out in the same direction, seamed it, infilled it with 2 pounds of infill per square foot.  Now the yard is installed and it looks amazing.  I expect I saved myself around $3,000 for doing the installation myself.  Thanks again for the education and the assistance in letting my install my own artificial turf.
